White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci attends a news conference in the James Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House after former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer resigned, in Washington, DC, on Friday. On CNN’s “State of the Union”, Mr Scaramucci suggested that Mr Trump is “going to make that decision shortly". Yet Mr Scaramucci said he had spoken with Mr Trump on the topic. The White House had argued that it needs flexibility to adjust economic sanctions against Moscow. Mr Trump has repeatedly shown doubt in the intelligence community’s conclusions on Russia, suggesting hacking of the 2016 election campaign could have been done by China or others.
